Photographs that improve an insulation estimate
Photos can make an initial discussion more useful when they show context as well as detail. They support early planning but do not replace an assessment of hidden conditions or a measured final scope.
Start with the whole area
Photograph each room or accessible work zone from a wide viewpoint. Include the route in and any obstacles. Label the images with a simple plan reference so the estimator can connect them to the proposed area.
Add the difficult details
Show junctions, existing finishes, services and visible damage. Include an appropriate scale reference where practical, without entering unsafe spaces or disturbing material. Explain what cannot be photographed and why.
Send a concise description
Attach the building use, project objective, approximate dimensions and intended timing. State whether you need a budget estimate or a firm proposal after assessment. Avoid asking the estimator to identify an unknown insulation product solely from its colour.
